Launching back in November 2019, Mong Kok Chinese restaurant located at Level 5-14, One Galle Face Mall, has introduced the flavours of Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine to the Sri Lankan gastronomical market. It was one of the first authentic Chinese fine dining restaurants to open at the One Galle Face Mall.
Mong Kok Chinese takes its name from the bustling city of Mong Kok, in Hong Kong, and offers a lovely fine dining experience to customers with the capacity to accommodate upto 60 people. The restaurant offers both cosy indoor dining and an alluring outdoor dining experience with a surreal view of the Indian ocean, the upcoming Colombo Port City and Galle Face Green . Unlike other restaurants in the mall, Mong Kok Chinese also provides an elegantly decorated exclusive VIP room which can accommodate upto 12. Perfect for corporate meetings or private get togethers.
The Mong Kok Chinese menu offers a variety of delicious Sichuan dishes made from a range of meats, seafood and vegetables which have been cooked with soy sauce, black bean sauce and Chinese spices. There a number of dishes that can be shared by 2-3 people and it is definitely value for money considering the large portions.

There is a variety of mouth watering dishes, including the appetisers Golden Prawn Balls and Vegetable Spring rolls. Head Chef Zhang also offered us the tempting Kung Pao Chicken with Peanuts, a succulent dish that exudes a mix of flavors. Other dishes included the Wok Stir Fried Pork Hunan, Steamed Pak Choy and Hefen Noodles with Chicken.
Most of the dishes at Mong Kok Chinese range from Rs 1800 to Rs 3000 and is definitely value for money as many items can be shared amongst a family or couple.
Do make sure you have a good appetite when you pay a visit as the dishes are very hearty and delicious at Mong Kok Chinese!
