Sri Lanka’s Anti-Corruption Commission to Probe Ministers’ Asset Declarations

Sri Lanka’s Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) is preparing to launch inquiries into complaints related to the assets and property of government ministers, according to reports.

A spokesperson for the Commission said that every complaint received under the relevant Act would be subject to investigation.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that a large number of requests have been filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act seeking greater transparency regarding ministers’ asset and property declarations.

Opposition political parties are also expected to submit additional complaints in the coming days, calling for further scrutiny of the government’s ministers and their declared wealth.
