The Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands, in collaboration with Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI) will organise the World Press Photo Exhibition (WPPE) 2025 from Friday, February 27th to sunday, March 8 th at the “One Galle Face” (OGF) in Colombo, and subsequently at “”Sahas Uyana” in Kandy, from Friday, March 13 th to Monday March 16 th , 2026. Regional and global juries comprised of 31 highly qualified photojournalists meticulously reviewed nearly 60,000 entries from 3,778 photographers in 141 countries. This rigorous anonymized process (except for Open Format entries) ensures the selection of powerful and impactful stories. The 2025 WPPE highlights the work of 42 photographers out of which 30 are local to the country where they photographed their projects.
