Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Tuesday, focusing on the escalating situation in the Middle East and its impact on global energy stability.
During the discussion, both leaders expressed concern over ongoing disruptions in West Asia, particularly how they are affecting international energy supplies and regional economic stability.
Following the call, Modi stated that they also reviewed progress on several key initiatives designed to strengthen energy cooperation between India and Sri Lanka. He emphasized that both nations remain committed to enhancing collaboration in energy and regional security.
Highlighting the strong ties between the two countries, Modi noted that India and Sri Lanka, as close and trusted partners, will continue to work together to address shared challenges in an increasingly uncertain global environment.
