The High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka H.E Santosh Jha inaugurated a photographic exhibition commemorating the life and legacy of the iron man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary at Harold Pieris Gallery, Colombo today.

2.     The exhibition showcased the journey, resilience, and commitment of the silent architect of India’s unity, who unified India with unwavering strength, transforming a divided land into a united nation. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was the first deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of the independent India.

3.     While inaugurating the exhibition, the High Commissioner mentioned that the towering influence of Sardar as a leader who integrated over 500 princely states into the fabric of a single nation laid the foundation for modern India. He added, “as we remember him today, Patel’s ideals of unity, strength, and patriotism resonate more than ever, reminding us of the enduring power of a shared purpose. His contribution lives on not only through the political borders he helped shape but also through the values of resilience and unity that inspire generations”.
