Colombo: The distribution of Triumph products, a leading women’s lingerie brand in Sri Lanka for decades, has officially been discontinued in the local market.
According to industry sources, the move follows a policy decision by Triumph International India, which oversees the brand in the region. It has been revealed that the products currently available in Sri Lankan stores are old stocks imported several years ago.
The local company that represented the Triumph brand is no longer operational. A former employee confirmed that business activities were fully suspended about six months ago under instructions from the parent company in India. Employees affected by the closure have reportedly been compensated.
Many sales representatives who previously handled Triumph products have now shifted to other women’s lingerie brands, reports indicate.
Earlier this year, in February, a clearance sale of Triumph stocks was held at the Sethsiripaya premises in Battaramulla, during which some issues were reported, according to media reports.
